Homeowners in Vinton, La., can expect lower insurance rates after the rating for the town’s fire department was raised.
KPLC reports the Property Insurance Association of Louisiana raised the department’s rating to Class 3 from its previous Class 4 on a 10-point scale.
Vinton Fire Chief, Jerry Merchant said ratings are evaluated every five years and in a process that looks at various elements of fire protection.
