Galveston police have arrested a man who they say crashed into two police cars while driving drunk.
KHOU-TV reports 66-year-old Raymond Oakley nearly struck a Galveston police officer who was working at the scene of an earlier accident. Chief Henry Porretto says the officer directing traffic had to flee from Oakley’s path and was a few feet away from being hit before the crash. No injuries were reported.
Oakley has been charged with DWI, driving with an invalid license and two counts of possessing a dangerous drug.
Police say Oakley was drunk and that they found drugs in his car.
Oakley is being held at the Galveston County Jail on $25,000 bond. Online jail records didn’t indicate an attorney.
