July 1, 2019

The Independent Insurance Agents of Texas (IIAT) has named Frank Swingle Jr., founder and CEO of Swingle Collins & Associates in Dallas, the 2019 Drex Foreman Award winner at IIAT’s Insurcon in Grapevine on June 21.

Named after Drex Foreman, who served as the chief executive director of IIAT for more than 30 years, the Drex Foreman Award is the highest honor IIAT bestows annually to an individual who has contributed greatly to the independent agency system.

Frank Swingle

Swingle founded Swingle Collins & Associates 37 years ago based on his commitment to help successful business owners in the North Texas area. His agency’s ability to meet their clients’ risk management needs while attracting great talent and shareholders has resulted in the agency becoming one of the largest independent insurance brokerages in Texas. Under Frank’s leadership, Swingle Collins & Associates has received many accolades and has been included on Insurance Journal “Top 100 Property/Casualty Agency” list for the past three years.

A key to his agency’s success is Frank’s focus on insurance education.

“Frank has established perhaps the strongest internal education program in the industry. He has demonstrated his commitment to helping his employees learn the art of insurance and become true masters of our trade. It is engrained in their culture,” outgoing IIAT Chair Jeff Brady, president and CEO of Brady, Chapman, Holland & Associates in Houston, said in IIAT’s media release.

Whether engaging with the community, business owners or the agency, Swingle attributes his success to his adherence to his core values. He has demonstrated these values in additional industry leadership roles, including serving as president of the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas (IIAT) and president of the Independent Insurance Agents of Dallas (IIAD), and numerous agency and carrier boards and councils.

A long-standing member of the Salesmanship Club of Dallas, Swingle served as president and chairman of the Byron Nelson PGA Tour golf tournament. He also serves on the board of the Salvation Army and is a member of the Addison Rotary Club.

“I’m tremendously honored to receive this award. I couldn’t be here without my wonderful family and my phenomenal teammates,” Swingle said in IIAT’s announcement.
