McGlinchey Stafford, headquartered in New Orleans, named former Louisiana commissioner of insurance and attorney Jim Donelon as a member. While his insurance regulatory practice is national in scope, he will primarily work from the Baton Rouge and New Orleans offices.
Donelon became commissioner in 2006 and was elected to four consecutive terms, ending in January 2024. He represented Jefferson Parish in the Louisiana House of Representatives.
Before becoming commissioner of insurance, Donelon served the Louisiana Department of Insurance in several leadership positions, including chief deputy commissioner and executive counsel. He also served as president of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.
