A State Act Workers’ Compensation program designed for marinas, boat dealers, boat repairers, boat yards and boat builders that only require State Act coverage has been introduced by LIG Marine Managers of St. Petersburg, Fla. The program is available in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia and Mississippi.
LIG’s program offers State Act Workers’ Compensation coverage monoline for risks that do not need Longshore, and State Act and Longshore combined for those that do.
The program offers workers’ compensation coverage for marinas, and WC/Longshore coverages for other marine businesses such as air conditioning and heating, surveyors, boat builders, electronics, engineer repair/service, machine shops, and welders who work exclusively on recreational vessels under 65 feet.
Businesses that work on recreational vessels over 65 feet, or any size commercial vessels, are also eligible for the program, including Longshore coverage, with up to 100 percent Longshore exposure.
