Atlantic Beach, S.C. officials say the town has worked out a payment plan with the state to keep insurance on police cars, town hall and other property.
The town owed almost $9,000 in premiums to the South Carolina Insurance Reserve Fund and was days away from losing its coverage.
Town officials said paying the bills fell through the cracks as the Horry County beach went through three town managers in a year.
