The Florida Legislature called a special session to address reduction of state spending.
The session, set to begin Oct. 3 and run through Oct. 12 was previously scheduled to begin Sept. 18, but was postponed.
In the originally scheduled session, insurers were anticipating discussion of the automobile personal injury protection or “no-fault” law’s expiration date. The law will “sunset” on Oct. 1.
In a letter to all State Senators and Representatives, Senate President Ken Pruitt and House Speaker Marco Rubio said “significant progress has been made to establish a general framework for reducing state spending.”
