The Kentucky Senate has used some late maneuvering in pushing a bill aimed at banning people from sending text messages while driving in the state.
Senators found a House bill to attach the provisions that would prohibit drivers from writing, sending or reading text messages when their vehicle is in motion.
The amended bill passed the Senate 28-0 earlier this week and returned it to the House.
Last week, the Senate passed another bill to ban texting while driving, but that measure hasn’t been heard by the House. Similarly, a House-passed bill to prohibit texting in moving vehicles has stalled in the Senate.
The legislation that passed the Senate is House Bill 415.
