No Major Injuries or Damage After Alabama Earthquake

Authorities say no major damage or injuries were reported after an earthquake in the metro Birmingham area Tuesday evening.

The U.S. Geological Survey reported that the 3.0 quake was centered about two miles southwest of Trussville and shook the ground in metro Birmingham shortly before 6 p.m.

Jonathan Barbee of Trussville said that the earthquake caused a crack in his wall. Barbee says he was on the phone when he felt his house shaking, including pictures on his walls. He said he heard car alarms and dogs barking in the neighborhood during the quake, which he believes lasted about six seconds.
