A 74-year-old West Virginia man who sued Ford Motor Company after his gas pedal got stuck, causing him to crash his truck, has been awarded more than $3 million in damages.
The Charleston Gazette reports that a federal jury in Huntington ruled in favor of Howard Nease of Poca, W. Va.
Nease says he was driving on U.S. 60 in St. Albans on Nov. 10, 2012, when his accelerator pedal stuck to the floor of his 2001 Ford Ranger. He drove over three curbs and through a car wash bay before smashing into a brick wall. Nease was hospitalized for three months. His attorney says he still suffers from the injuries.
Ford argued that Nease pressed his foot on the wrong pedal and says it is considering an appeal.
