Allied American Underwriters, a subsidiary of USG Insurance Services Inc., announced that it acquired the renewal rights on several books of business from Jacksonville, Florida-based US Assure.
The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, but included their Commercial Storage Tank and Dealers Tank programs, Religious Institutions, Educational Institutions, Human Services, and other product lines. US Assure will continue to concentrate on its Builders Risk Plan and adjacent Property programs, the announcement said.
With this acquisition, Allied American Underwriters is opening a new office in Jacksonville. Leading the new office is Michelle Huitt, production manager, who comes to Allied American Underwriters from US Assure where she was underwriting manager. Marie Maxwell and Tiffany Batten, producer/brokers, will also be joining Allied American Underwriters from US Assure where they served as underwriters.
The Jacksonville branch will be assisted by a support team based in Allied American Underwriters’ flagship office in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. The Jacksonville office currently has four team members, all from US Assure who used to work on the books that were acquired. With expansion and recruiting underway, the office has over five immediate openings, Allied American Underwriters said.
Allied American Underwriters is a specialty product provider and commercial lines program manager with four divisions: Workers Compensation, Programs, Garage, and Environmental. Allied American Underwriters’ parent USG Insurance Services is a national wholesaler and managing general agent (MGA) with 18 offices across the country. USG Insurance Services is headquartered in Tampa, Florida, with corporate operations taking place in its flagship office in Canonsburg.
