“Florida Voters Approve Raising Minimum Wage to $15 Over 6 Years” because we’re dumb like that you know? Why stop at $15? Let’s make sure everyone gets $100 per hour guaranteed and problem solved! No more people….right, sure that will work.

$15 per hour is hardly a living wage now. After taxes, that would leave about $1,800 per month for a full-time worker. The average rent in Florida is just under $800, but that doesn’t mean you can rent affordably near where your job is. A quick search of how much it costs to rent a house in Clearwater indicates a 2-bedroom place starts at $1,200 per month. Factor in car payment, utilities, insurance, food, maybe an ice cream on Sundays, and you see why the despair is real for so many in this country. You can’t even afford a hobby on $15 /per hour.
