Patriot Growth Insurance Services, less than three years old, has added a Florida firm to its army of insurance agencies around the country.
The company, which calls itself one of the fastest growing national insurance agencies, announced that it had made Clermont-based Southern Insurance part of Patriot’s Shapiro Insurance Group, headquartered in Jacksonville. Southern is a full-service, independent property/casualty agency that was formed in 2008 and is headed by Tom Johnson, the company said.
Southern Insurance is the fourth partnership announced since Shapiro Insurance Group joined Patriot in November 2019.
The announcement comes two weeks after GI Partners, a private investment firm, announced the recapitalization of Patriot Growth. Based in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, Patriot was founded in January 2019 by Matt Gardner, a veteran of the insurance distribution industry. Since the company’s founding, Patriot has completed more than 60 agency partnerships, the company said.
