Higginbotham, a national insurance broker, continues to grow with the acquisition of Burkholder Insurance Inc. in Mobile, Alabama.
Higginbotham, known for its expansion through acquisitions in recent years, said the deal will give Burkholder broader service capacity, including employee benefits and human resources consulting. This is the second Alabama partnership for Higginbotham.
The Burkholder agency opened in 1951 and has focused on property/casualty insurance. Paul Burkholder III was named a managing director and will continue overseeing the Burkholder operations, the companies said in a news release.
