The Motor Carrier Insurance Education Foundation (MCIEF) has named Jim Schoonover its new education director. He succeeds Tommy Ruke who founded the organization in 2013.
Schoonover, whose mission will be to educate transportation industry insurance professionals, began as a school teacher, MCIEF said in a news release. He later moved to association education work and has been in insurance carrier education roles — and with MCIEF — since 2017.
Schoonover said he plans to assess MCIEF’s current education programs and explore new ones, along with more use of technology. MCIEF is a non-profit group based in Fort Myers, Florida.
