Jimbo Floyd, head of Turner Wood and Smith Insurance in Gainesville, Georgia, has been sworn in as president of the Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia.

Floyd has previously served as IIAG’s chairman of the board, vice president, secretary-treasurer and chair of the the association’s governmental affairs committee. He joined Turner Wood in 2004 after working with John Hancock in Atlanta, the association said in a news release. He is a certified insurance counselor.
Also serving on IIAG’s executive committee through June 2025 are President-Elect Jarrett Bridges, of Turner and Associates; Vice President Robbie Moore, of Legacy Risk Solutions; Secretary-Treasurer Kevin Panter, of Kevin Panter Insurance; Immediate Past President Wendi Hamby, of Hamby and Alosio; and National Director Andy Siegel, of Siegel Insurance.
The association has more than 500 members.
In Florida, CRC Group, a wholesale specialty distributor, said Joseph Carothers has joined the CRC team in Tampa as senior team leader. He previously spent eight years in underwriting with another wholesale brokerage, CRC said in a statement.
Craig Brown also was named a team leader in CRC’s Tampa office. He has two decades of industry experience in claims handling and product management.
