Hub International Ltd., the global insurance broker, has named Tim Smith president and CEO of its operations in the Carolinas.

Smith was previously the chief sales officer at Hub International Carolinas and was a Charlotte-area market leader. Before that, he was a managing director for business development at Wells Fargo, the Chicago-based Hub said in a news release.
Smith will now oversee 13 Hub offices and 340 people, and will be responsible for growth and merger and acquisition strategy in North and South Carolina. The firm’s portfolio includes more than 50 commercial clients, with a specialty in nonprofit, construction and hospitality fields.
