Transatlantic Underwriters, a specialized wholesale brokerage for trucking and transportation insurance, is making a limited move into broader property-casualty coverage.
The Marietta, Georgia-based firm, founded in 1989, introduced six new lines of business, including commercial general and excess liability; commercial property; inland marine; builder’s risk and garage insurance. Until now, the brokerage has focused on commercial auto liability, motor truck cargo, and automobile damage.
“Our transportation operations are thriving, and we’re now positioned to diversify our offerings to better serve existing customers and welcome new partners,” TAU President Colby Waltenburg said in the announcement.
TAU has named Bernadette Flores senior vice president of the P&C division. She has 24 years’ experience in excess and surplus lines, including contractors, garage, habitational and hospitality.
