Authorities were investigating a fire and explosion at a Fiberon plant in North Carolina that injured four workers late last week.
The Queen City News and other sites reported that the facility in New London, which makes composite material for decking and outdoor furniture, exploded about 6 p.m. Friday. The building and equipment suffered quite a bit of damage and four people were taken to area hospitals for burns and other injuries, news sites reported.
The Fiberon plant was shut down while crews sifted through the debris. The North Carolina Bureau of Investigation, the state Fire Marshal and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms were investigating.
