Burns & Wilcox, a Farmington Hills, Mich.-based national specialty insurance wholesaler, underwriter and managing general agent, has promoted Ken Lyon to assistant branch manager in the company’s Sacramento, Calif., office.
Lyon has more than 26 years of experience in the insurance industry. He currently works in underwriting, marketing and management of the Sacramento office and the company’s Modesto, Calif., service center. Previously, he served as the underwriting manager of the Sacramento office, and has worked for the company since 2003.
Lyon will concentrate on: environmental, professional liability, umbrella, large property, miscellaneous E&O, nonprofit D&O, EPLI and vacant buildings. He also has expertise in the areas of artisan contractors, commercial general contractors, remodeling contractors and specialty contractors, along with the professional liability risks for those classes.
In the Sacramento office, a new focus is the brokerage contractors market, including single-family residential builder, artisan contractors who work in new residential construction, wraps and umbrellas for these classes.
