California’s Office of Administrative Law has approved new medical treatment guideline regulations.
Primarily, the regulations:
*Defined or deleted terms such as acute, chronic, claims administrator as suggested by earlier public comments;
*Adopted and incorporated the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine’s Occupational Medicine Practice Guidelines;
*Addressed acupuncture medical treatment guidelines;
*And increased the number of memebers on the medical evidence evaluation advisory committee to advise the Division of Workers’ Compensation medical director on matters that would lead to revisions, updatesg and supplements the MTUS.
