So, only 2.45% of the people pulled over (not the general public) were DUI over the 4th in AZ. While I commend the officers, that is a very low % of DUI if that statistic is spread over the general population.
I think 2.45% is considerable; not sure what number you would consider “significant”. Think of it this way – 2.45% means 1 out of 40 vehicles had an impaired driver. Drive down a busy street and you might note that’s about 3 or 4 stop lights worth of vehicles. So you’d “only” meet a drunk every 3/4 of a mile or so… and you don’t think that’s bad?
Actually what is very scary is the extreme DUI — with all of the information in the media (no matter what source) of the dangers/issues with DUI, yet it continues.
