A northern Idaho couple has filed a wrongful termination lawsuit against Kootenai County.
The Coeur d’Alene Press reported that the lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Coeur d’Alene contends Kathy Pagano was improperly terminated by the county.
The lawsuit says Pagano started working for the county as an accounting clerk on Aug. 8, 2008, and that she suffers from severe intermittent physical pain, and has difficulty with concentration and memory.
The lawsuit says Pagano in May 2011 needed a medical procedure, and on June 14 was cleared to return to work part time.
She says in the lawsuit she was told to wait until she could return without restrictions, but was fired June 21, 2011, for failing to report her return-to-work status.
