Newport Beach, Calif.-based Alliant Insurance Services has named Derek Whipple senior vice president of energy and marine.
Whipple is located on the West Coast, and has a specialized focus on power-related energy.
He was previously a managing director at Aon. He’s also spent time at Marsh, and Willis. He has more than 25 years of experience in power generation, conventional thermal plants, such as gas and coal-fired facilities to renewable energy including solar, wind, storage, and alternative technologies.
Newport Beach, Calif.-based Alliant provides property/casualty, workers’ compensation, employee benefits, underwriting, surety, and financial products and services.
