Southern California Edison announced that more than $750 million has been offered through its Wildfire Recovery Compensation Program to compensate people impacted by one of the massive 2025 Los Angeles wildfires.
The company said there’s continued interest in its voluntary program for eligible residents impacted by the Eaton Fire.

The company said there have been roughly 3,900 claims submitted to the program. The claims are made up of roughly 12,000 individuals, trusts and legal entities, while 31% were submitted by attorneys or authorized representatives, according to SCE.
SCE said more than 2,100 offers were extended to some 5,200 claimants, totaling more than $743 million, with more than 2,100 claimants paid, totaling more than $314 million.
The program is designed to offer compensation in line with settlement values for similar claims in past wildfire lawsuits.

Offers are being made in an average of roughly 35 days, according to SCE. The utility conducted a survey with 120 paid participants that the company said shows 82% report a favorable opinion of the program.
Payments have ranged from $15.1 million for a claimant with multiple properties to $15,000 for a tenant with non-burn damage, according to SCE.
