Pete G. McPartland has been named chief executive officer at Sentry Insurance a Mutual Company in Stevens Point, Wis.
Dale R. Schuh, who previously held the title, will continue to serve as chairman of the board of Sentry, with McPartland assuming active management of overall operations, according to the insurer.
McPartland joined Sentry in 2010 as president and chief operating officer with more than 30 years of experience in the industry, including service with Aetna and Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co. He also served in executive positions with General Casualty Co. Prior to joining Sentry, he was president and chief executive officer of Golden Eagle Insurance in San Diego, Calif., a subsidiary of Liberty Mutual Group.
Founded in 1904, Sentry and its subsidiaries provide property and casualty insurance, life insurance, annuities and retirement programs for businesses and individuals throughout the United States.
