The number of licensed insurance producers in Arkansas has risen by 66.1% since early 2015, according to the Arkansas Insurance Department.
The department said there are now 145,185 insurance producers and adjusters licensed in the state.
Since 2015, 57,355 new insurance producers and 3,248 new insurance businesses have been licensed in Arkansas.
The 145,185 licensed insurance producers and adjusters at the end of 2019 is an increase over the 135,291 at the end of 2018. The 20,436 resident licenses in 2019 is a slight decrease from 20,560 a year ago.
Licensed business entities rose by 492 in 2019, eclipsing the 10,000-mark for the first time with 10,215 at year’s end. Since the end of 2014, the number of licensed business entities has increased 36.6%.
The department said it is moving to online licensing this year.
