William Moraw

Houston-based Encore Bank named William Reed Moraw to manage its insurance agency operations. He becomes agency president upon completion of the bank’s acquisition of Town & Country Insurance Agency Inc. Moraw has more than a dozen years of insurance agency experience, most recently as senior vice president – Syndication/Business Development with Aon Risk Services Inc., Houston. Prior to this, he was a vice president for business development with Arthur J. Gallagher & Company Inc. and an underwriter with Wassau Insurance Company.

Frank Galitski

Frank V. Galitski, of Austin, was appointed Farmers Insurance Co.’s director of Government Affairs for Texas. He will report to Mark Toohey, assistant vice president of Legislative & Regulatory Affairs, in Farmers’ Los Angeles, Calif. headquarters. Galitski will office in Farmers’ Austin Service Center. Galitski has worked the last two years as executive director for the Texas Alliance for Patient Access (TAPA). He previously was the Austin-based, regional government affairs manager for the Alliance of American Insurers. He also worked for former Texas State Representatives Mike Toomey and Steve Holzheauser analyzing and advocating pro-business legislation during the 2001 Texas legislative session.

Vincent Claudio

Caliber Collision Centers, which operates collision repair facilities in California and Texas, appointed Vincent Claudio vice president of Client Services. In this position, Claudio will assume responsibility for all aspects of operations related to Caliber’s service commitments to consumers, insurance clients, dealers and fleets. Claudio brings over 18 years of collision repair and insurance industry experience to Caliber, with his most recent position being director of Physical Damage Claims for Safeco Insurance Company.

Thomas Bradley

Zurich named Thomas Bradley chief operating officer of Finance and Administration and chief financial officer of its North American commercial operations. Bradley will bring nearly 25 years of insurance experience to his new positions at Zurich. He was formerly executive vice president and CFO for The St. Paul Companies Inc.

John Oxendine

John McCartney, the current CFO, announced plans to retire on May 30, and will support Bradley during the transition.

The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) named Georgia Insurance Commissioner John Oxendine as the NAIC liaison to the Hague Conference. In this role he will attend Hague Conventions throughout the year that focus on different aspects of international law and insurance issues. Oxendine, who attended the Hague Convention on Private International Law last December, has become increasingly involved in international issues, with particular focus on the enforcement of foreign judgments.

RiskProNet International Inc. (RPNI) elected Jeff Brady with Brady, Chapman, Holland & Associates Inc. in Houston, and Scott Drew with Associated Financial Group of Minnetonka, Minn., as directors of RPNI, a network of 28 independent insurance brokers located throughout the United States and Canada.

Brady is president and chief executive officer of Brady, Chapman, Holland & Associates, which he joined in 1985 to take the lead in product development for the firm. He served as president of the Independent Insurance Agents of Houston in 1997-1998 and in 1999 received the Young Agent of the Year Award from the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas. He holds the professional designations of CIC (certified insurance counselor) and CRM (certified risk manager).

Drew is vice president of Associated Financial Group, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Associated Banc-Corp.

The Texas Chapter of CIC announced two new scholarship recipients: Susan Tyner with the Barnard Insurance Group in Wichita Falls, Texas, and Judy A Walker with Texas General Agency Inc. in San Antonio, Texas.

The scholarships were sponsored by Leicht General Agency. The Texas Chapter of CIC, the largest state chapter of the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors, is a group of insurance professionals dedicated to the insurance industry and promotion of the CIC designation.

Dallas-based MarketScout, announced that Beverly Johnson has joined the company. Johnson, formerly with Risc Inc., will interface with MarketScout agents who have business that does not align with one of the MarketScout “Best of Class” verticals and requires an open market or E&S placement. Johnson has over 26 years of underwriting and marketing experience.

Thompson, Coe, Cousins & Irons LLP announced two new partners, Larry Wilson and Ryan Griffitts.

Wilson is a partner in the law firm’s Houston office. His practice focuses primarily on the defense of business entities in lawsuits involving environmental, employment, products liability, premises liability and wide-ranging casualty claims. He is admitted to practice in all Texas state courts, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Texas.

Griffitts is a partner in the Dallas office. His practice and experience includes employment litigation and advice for management clients, and defense of civil rights claims against governmental entities. He is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Texas and Louisiana.

ACE USA appointed Vince McGeehan senior vice president, Marketing, for ACE USA Professional Risk. Based in New York City, McGeehan will be responsible for business development, including sales and marketing, for the division. He previously served as senior vice president, Casualty, for ACE Bermuda.
