Charles G. Wilker of Wexford, Pennsylvania, a 16-year insurance-fraud investigator and former State Police Trooper, has been named to serve on the board of directors of the state’s Insurance Fraud Prevention Authority (IFPA) by State Senate President Pro Tempore Robert Jubelirer.
Wilker is currently the regional supervisor for the Erie Insurance Group’s Investigative Services Section in Warrendale, Pa. He will serve a four-year term on the IFPA board.
Under the 1994 Act which established the IFPA, the president pro tempore of the state Senate is designated to appoint one of the board’s seven members – specifically a representative of an insurance company writing workers’ compensation insurance in Pennsylvania. The act allows the appointee a maximum of two, four-year terms. Wilker’s appointment completes the IFPA board, which has had a vacant seat since former board member Vincent D. Rapp passed away in September.
