The Professional Insurance Agents of Connecticut Inc. announced that Harleysville Worcester Insurance Co. Commercial Lines Territory Manager Allison B. McKiernan CPCU, CIC, AU will receive its Company Professional of the Year award. The formal presentation will take place at PIACT’s annual convention awards luncheon, to be held at Foxwoods Resort and Casino, Mashantucket, on March 19.
PIACT presents the award to the company representative who best fosters a sound working relationship between insurance agents and companies, and who exemplifies a commitment to professionalism and service as a company professional.
McKiernan resides in Ellington, Conn. And is active in numerous professional activities that strengthen the alliance her company has with its producers. Among her professional affiliations, she has been a board member of PIACT’s Young Insurance Professionals organization and a member of the Connecticut Insurance Marketing Association. She also is active in her community, particularly with the Ellington Congregational church and has served as a Sunday school teacher for many years.
“Allison has a rare talent for balancing the needs of the independent agent with the goals of her company,” said James Pascarella, CPCU, PIACT president. “We have heard from PIACT members that her positive attitude is exceptional, especially during this time of strenuous workloads for both producers and companies.”
She joined Harleysville in 2001 as a commercial lines territory manager for the state of Connecticut. She formerly worked for Berkshire-Hathaway Homestate Cos. as a territorial manager and for Hanover Insurance Group as a senior commercial lines underwriter. She began her insurance career on the agency side at Anderson-Meyer Agency of Glastonbury and Wolff-Zackin & Associates of Vernon, Conn.
