The Township of South Brunswick, New Jersey was presented with a Special Recognition Award by the Garden State Municipal Joint Insurance Fund (GSMJIF), for its contributions to the overall success of the Fund.
Barry Barron, president of NIP Management Co., LLC, the Fund Administrator, presented the award to Mayor Frank Gambatese in a ceremony held at the Township’s municipal offices yesterday,
“Any joint insurance fund is only as good as its member municipalities,” Barron stated, “and this award is in appreciation of the work done by South Brunswick in contributing to the overall success of the Fund.”
Gambatese commented, “A joint insurance fund is a team effort and we are pleased and proud that South Brunswick has been recognized for its contributions to keeping GSMJIF claims costs down. Focusing on safety management helps protect Township employees and saves the citizens of South Brunswick money.”
The GSMJIF is one of the largest joint insurance funds in New Jersey, whose nine member towns comprise over 325,000 taxpayers. The fund enables the public entities to achieve economies of scale and purchasing leverage, which results in lower costs for their coverage.
