A 63-year-old man faces prison time for fraud, forgery and other illegal activities at the two car dealerships he operated in western New York.
Richard Giza, of Lancaster, has pleaded guilty in Erie County Court to grand larceny, forgery, insurance fraud and falsifying business records. Prosecutors say he admitted taking payment for vehicles without transferring the titles or filing proper paperwork.
He also admitted falsifying Department of Motor Vehicle records, forging various documents and keeping more than $100,000 in sales taxes he collected from customers.
Giza operated KPS Carrs in Buffalo and Premier Motocar in Williamsville.
He faces mandatory state prison time with a maximum term of 15 years. He’ll be sentenced on Feb. 5.
