Auburn, Massachusetts police report they recovered 16 cars within 36 hours of them being stolen from a local auto rental business.
Three Boston men have been charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle and other charges.
All of the vehicles were 2020 or newer.
According to police, the thieves cut two sections of fence and damaged a secure gate by driving a large vehicle through to make an exit.
Working with business management and security personnel, detectives first located three vehicles hidden in Auburn, nine vehicles in Natick, and another vehicle in South Boston. The State Police stopped another stolen vehicle, a 2022 Cadillac, and apprehended three suspects. By 5:45 p.m. on December 8, less than 36 hours after the theft, detectives had recovered all 16 stolen vehicles.
