Guy Carpenter &. Company, Inc., the global risk and reinsurance division of Marsh & McLennan, announced the appointment of Martin Markoff, 44, as Managing Director for its Continental Europe operations.
“In his new position, Markoff will be responsible for the expansion of Guy Carpenter’s business activities in the region, serving as a member of the Continental Europe Operating Committee and reporting directly to Michael H. Handler, Chief Executive Officer of Guy Carpenter’s Continental Europe operations,” said the announcement.
Markoff has 30 years of experience in the reinsurance industry. Before joining Guy Carpenter, he was the COO of Allianz Global Risk. He has also served as the Executive VP of Allianz Risk Transfer, and has held positions in Munich, New York and Zurich for Allianz and Munich Re.
“Martin is a highly regarded industry executive and a welcome addition to our senior management team in Europe,” Handler stated. “Under his leadership, we will seek to significantly enhance our presence in the region. Martin will also work closely with our sister MMC companies to identify areas where our global reach and expertise can make a difference in our clients’ ability to meet their business objectives.”
