Guy Carpenter & Company, Inc., Marsh Mac’s global risk and reinsurance specialist division, announced the appointment of Wilfried Mueller as a Managing Director, effective January 1, 2005.
He will lead the firm’s efforts focused on the German middle market business segment and will be based in Cologne, where Guy Carpenter will establish a dedicated branch office of its Munich operation.
“We are delighted to have Wilfried Mueller join us,” stated Michael Handler, Managing Director and Regional Manager for Continental Europe. “With his deep experience, knowledge and relationships, he will further strengthen the resources and competencies that Guy Carpenter offers its clients in the region, specifically in the German market.”
Mueller, 56, began his career in 1971 with the Gothaer Rueckversicherung AG. In 1990, he joined the Rheinland Versicherungsgruppe as a Board Member of the Rheinland Rueckversicherung AG and later the Rheinland Versicherungs AG. In July 2000, he rejoined the Gothaer Rueckversicherung AG as a member of the Board and became Speaker of the Board in February 2001.
