The UK’s Royal & SunAlliance has appointed Timothy Mitchell to the newly created post of Group Underwriting & Claims Director with responsibility to direct the development of underwriting and claims strategies and capabilities, reporting directly to Group CEO, Andy Haste.
Mitchell will leave his current post at Zurich Financial Services as Head of Actuarial Underwriting in the Corporate Customer Division to join R&SA. He became Chief Underwriter at Zurich’s UK General Business in 2001, and was a member of the GBU Executive Committee.
Prior to joining Zurich, Mitchell spent two years at American International Group in New York, as Senior Vice President of National Union and Executive Vice President at American Home Assurance Company.
