Aon Risk Solutions, the risk management business of Aon Corp., announced the appointment of Christof Bentele as the Crisis Management Practice’s chief broking officer with immediate effect. He is currently Aon’s global product leader for recall and contamination business.
Aon said “Bentele has more than 25 years of experience in various management and decision making roles within the risk and insurance industry and is recognized as one of the world’s premier risk management experts on recall and contamination.”
He will continue to report to Paul Bassett, CEO of Aon Risk Solutions’ Global Crisis Management Practice, and will be responsible for the practice’s global broking strategy, key market relationships, broking excellence and execution, product development and innovation.
Bentele will “oversee all Crisis Management Practice-related broking activities globally as well as in the firm’s London Global Broking Center. He will retain responsibility as the global product leader for recall and contamination,” said the announcement.
He will be “supported by Steve Dalchow, who has been appointed deputy CBO and head of special projects.” Bentele will continue to represent the Crisis Management Practice on Aon’s Global Broking Center Board.
Aon noted that Dalchow is highly respected for his experience in dealing with specific terrorism, war and political violence coverage. He has extensive knowledge of the London, Bermuda and European insurance and reinsurance markets, and “specializes in developing solutions, both consultative and risk transfer in nature, for clients affected by the perils of terrorism, political risk, kidnap and ransom, extortion and product recall and contamination.”
Bassett said he is looking forward to working with new appointees. Bentele explained that the “risks our clients face are global and complex, leading to more demand for coordinated, specialist solutions to meet their business needs. Aon’s global broking strategy ensures we are providing clients with unmatched expertise and choice from a global network of broking specialists.’
