Neon has appointed Gregg McPhee to the newly created role of head of Political Violence.
McPhee will join Neon on Oct. 1 2016 and will lead Neon’s existing political violence team, reporting to Darren Lednor, chief underwriting officer of Neon. (Neon was formerly known as Marketform).
McPhee brings 35 years of market experience in both broking and underwriting to the role, as well as extensive knowledge of the terrorism and property markets, said Neon in a statement. He was previously senior broker in Worldwide Property at THB where he successfully developed several terrorism facilities. Prior to THB, he held senior roles within the terrorism space at BMS Group, Benfield, RFIB and Alexander Forbes.
“We are delighted to have attracted someone of Gregg’s experience and specialism to lead our political violence team as we look to enhance our profile and increase our relevance in this market,” commented Martin Reith, CEO Neon Underwriting.
“Neon has been offering political violence insurance for a number of years and, although this is a highly competitive market, demand remains high,” he said. “As Neon continues to add more short tail lines to our syndicate, political violence will be a core line that complements our direct property underwriting.”
