Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has appointed Kerry McKay to the newly created role of head of Distribution and Client Management for Continental Europe. He will report directly to LSM’s head of Europe, Kadidja Sinz.
The move comes as LSM seeks to expand its operations as a specialist insurer throughout Europe, providing a broad range of services and products through its six continental European branch offices, the company said in a statement.
With a 27-year career in the insurance sector, McKay has significant distribution experience, having successfully developed and enhanced broker relationships across Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific. He most recently held a global role as head of Central Broker Management for insurer XL Catlin, where he worked for the past five years. Prior to this, McKay worked for brokers Jardine Lloyd Thompson Specialty and Marsh in London, with roles encompassing risk consulting, multi-national client management, placement and project management.
“Kerry joins us at an exciting time as we expand across Europe and grow our capabilities through investment in people and infrastructure,” commented Sinz. “His considerable experience in building great partnerships with brokers as well as understanding the needs of clients in an evolving market will be of real benefit to us.”
McKay is expected to take up his new role this summer.
