Swiss Re Corporate Solutions has appointed Simon Tardif as head Aviation Canada, effective Oct. 29, 2018. In this role, Tardif will be responsible for the growth and strategy of the aviation team across Canada.
He has relocated from Paris, France to Toronto, Ontario where he will oversee a team of aviation underwriters.
Tardif brings 12 years of industry experience to this role, holding positions as both an underwriter and broker during his career. Joining Swiss Re Corporate Solutions in 2015, Tardif was a senior underwriter for aviation in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
A Canadian and French national, Tardif holds an Advanced Certificate Aerospace and Aviation from HEC Paris and a master’s degree in insurance from Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers, France. He speaks French, English and Russian and spent a few months working in Moscow with a French reinsurer. He is the chairman of the Insurance Committee at the European Business Aviation Association and a lecturer as l’Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile in Toulouse, France.
Swiss Re Corporate Solutions serves clients and brokers throughout Canada from offices in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver.
