Insurance Commissioner Vicki Schmidt has appointed Dennis Jones as director of Anti-Fraud at the Kansas Insurance Department (KID).
Jones brings over 30 years of legal experience having previously served as a city attorney, county attorney, special prosecutor and most recently as assistant district attorney for Shawnee County.
“The Director of Anti-Fraud is tasked with investigating suspected violators of the insurance fraud statutes and working with industry and law enforcement task forces to root out fraud,” Commissioner Schmidt said in the agency’s announcement. “Fraud costs every honest Kansan more of their own money and it’s important we do everything we can to eliminate it. Dennis has had long legal career and has the right experience to be a tremendous asset to the Department and I’m thankful he has agreed to serve.”
Commissioner Vicki Schmidt is the 26th insurance commissioner for the state of Kansas. She is currently the only elected female insurance commissioner and the only pharmacist elected to statewide office in the United States.
