Marsh & McLennan Names Dunn Director for Military, Veterans Affairs

April 21, 2014

Marsh & McLennan Companies Inc. said that Eddie Dunn has joined the firm as director, Military and Veteran Affairs.

In this role, Dunn will support the U.S. Veterans Talent Initiative Marsh & McLennan announced last November. He will be responsible for managing the firm’s veteran recruitment strategy, matching qualified veteran talent to openings within the firm’s four operating companies — Marsh, Guy Carpenter, Mercer, and Oliver Wyman — and serving as a key point of contact for veteran hires.

Dunn will report to Marsh & McLennan Companies Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer Nicole Gardner and interim Head of Talent Acquisition Denise Nichols.

Dunn joins the Company from JP Morgan Chase, where, as senior vice president, Military and Veteran Affairs, he had responsibility for the firm’s 100,000 Jobs Mission strategy and program. The 100,000 Jobs Mission is a coalition of companies, including Marsh & McLennan Companies, that has pledged to hire veterans.

Prior to joining JPMorgan Chase in August 2011, Dunn ran his own consulting firm, Innovative “Org” Design, which focused on organizational leadership and change management. Before that, he served as director of Human Resources North America at Fisher Clinical Services and as an associate director of Human Resources at Novartis Pharmaceuticals.

Dunn is a 20-year veteran of the United States Army, serving first in the 82nd Airborne Division as paratrooper and logistician before joining the Army Reserves. In the Reserves, he served in the 824th Quartermaster as a parachute rigger and jumpmaster. He held the position of company first sergeant before retiring in 2008.
