There will be a public hearing in Tallahassee on Oct. 6 for the insurance industry’s proposed 6.8 percent workers’ compensation rate decrease for Florida employers.
The National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) made the rate recommendation on Aug. 21. The NCCI is requesting an overall average rate decrease of 6.8 percent statewide for the voluntary market for all new and renewal workers’ compensation insurance policies written, effective Jan. 1, 2010.
The reduction would produce a savings of more than $166 million for Florida employers.
