All carriers licensed to offer workers’ compensation in Mississippi must file a summary or copy of any safety plans they offer their policyholders with state regulators under a new regulation.
The Mississippi Insurance Department has notified all workers’ compensation carriers that they have 120 days from the regulation’s effective date of April 24 to file the safety plans.
The department is anticipating that this will be a one-time filing, unless an insurer amends or develops a new set of safety rules. There is a filing fee of $50.
