A Georgia judge has issued an arrest warrant for an Alabama woman who may have forged documents to receive more than three months of insurance benefits after a 2019 car crash.
Tessa Blakely, 40, of Fort Mitchell, Alabama, is wanted for insurance fraud, Georgia Insurance Commissioner John King said in a news release. Blakely was involved in the car crash and was given a five-day medical exemption from work. But the woman allegedly forged the paperwork to show a 97-day exemption, King said.
Liberty Mutual was the insurer, but the news release did not indicate if the case involved workers’ compensation insurance or auto insurance.
