Dale Longfellow of Hobson Insurance has announced his retirement, to take effect at the end of the year.
Longfellow has been in the insurance industry for more than 40 years. He developed Hobson Insurance based in Hobson, Mont., into a full line agency, which has been named a “Best Practices” award winner for many years. In what seems an unlikely setting in Montana, the agency services commercial accounts in more than 45 states. He doubled the size of the building in 1998, and then again in 2007.
Longfellow’s two daughters, Kristy Longfellow Hodik and Misty Longfellow Kriskovich, will buy the agency and continue his legacy.
Longfellow has been an active member in the Montana Independent Insurance Agents Association and has served many positions including president in 2006. His past achievements include an appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy. He was also an assistant instructor (GA) for the Dale Carnegie Institute. He retired a few years ago from the volunteer fire and ambulance service in Hobson, but continues to serve as the small town’s mayor. He also serves on the Wells Fargo Bank Board in Lewistown, Mont.; the Montana Municipal Insurance Authority Board, and the Central Montana Regional Water Authority Board.
