In light of Nevada Earthquake Awareness and Preparedness Week (Feb. 22-26), the Division of Insurance’s “Earthquake Insurance Nevada Consumer’s Guide.”
“In addition to creating a plan to take care of loved ones in the event of an earthquake, consumers also should develop a plan for financial recovery – and consider their insurance needs,” said Insurance Commissioner Scott Kipper. “Our consumer’s guide to earthquake insurance provides an excellent resource for those considering purchasing this type of coverage.”
In addition to producing this guide, Commissioner Kipper supports the efforts of the Nevada Earthquake Safety Council in providing citizens with useful information about earthquakes and how to prepare for them. The Division of Insurance urges Nevadans to visit the Nevada Earthquake Safety Council’s Web site www.unr.edu/earthquake/index.html and to also consider creating a home inventory.
