Allstate Insurance Co. announced it plans to add 120 new agency owners in California during 2011, in an “aggressive recruiting campaign” in the state. Allstate signed on 44 new California “exclusive agents” in 2010 and 17 in 2009.
Additionally, Allstate is encouraging its new and existing California agencies to hire 600-plus licensed sales professionals to help it grow its auto business in the Golden State. The company also said it is moving to strengthen its California presence in the boat, motorcycle and recreational all-terrain vehicle insurance markets.
Allstate currently insures more than 2 million California cars and trucks and has more than 3,500 agents, support staff and employees in the state.
