An Oregon electrician who claimed he was fired by Nike because he complained about safety violations at the Beaverton campus has lost a $27 million lawsuit against the company.
A Multnomah County Circuit Court jury ruled Wednesday in favor of Nike, which denied it was retaliating in January 2013 when it fired Douglas Ossanna.
The Oregonian reported the 56-year-old was fired because he broke Nike’s trust by sneaking his son and two other men into a fitness center to let them shoot hoops on an unfinished court. The surface was still drying and sustained some minor scuffing.
