Two women who were struck by a car outside a Cheyenne, Wyo. bar have filed civil complaints against the bar owners arguing bar employees knowingly served alcohol to the underage driver who hit them.
The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reported Christine E. Mercer and Celyssa Trevizo filed complaints against KZ Corp., which owned Goofy’s Tavern in March 2013.
The claims allege bar employees knew Julia Big Crow was not old enough to legally drink. She later plowed her car into a group of women after an argument with Mercer, knocking three women unconscious.
Big Crow, now 22, was sentenced in August to five to 10 years in prison for two counts of aggravated assault and battery with a weapon.
KZ had not replied to the complaint and a phone number listed for the bar was no longer in use.
